Youth give hands to Paralyzed man

 Hi, this is Ron Heagy with you Motivational Message:

My family and I would like to extend a sincere “Thank You” with gratitude to the youth group and leaders from Morningstar Church.

I hope this message brings you strength, gives you inspiration, and brightens up your day.

My opinion about teenagers being “lazy” was drastically challenged this past weekend, and I feel refreshed in my soul concerning teens after a recent experience.  After talking with youth leaders in various churches and in particular, those at Morningstar Church in Salem where my family and I attend, I have found that teens need to feel valued.  Many of the teens that I see seem to be moping around, riding skateboards and just hanging out in the mall.  I often find myself thinking “don’t they have anything better to do?”   Yet, I am not a part of the solution because I have not given them anything better to do.  Our society perpetuates the attitude of the under-valued teen.    Many times it is the teenager that is not motivated however, when teens are given the opportunity and the direction they will come together and work side-by-side on a project.  Not only does it help our community as a whole but it gives a teen purpose and value within that community.  They will experience how they can make a difference and put that into action.  If we value teenagers at this stage in their lives, hopefully they continue to see their value as they grow into adults.
